About | Transformation
“In the world in which we used to live, it was enough in most cases if people were good team players, pulled their weight, were loyal to the company or organization where they worked, and could be counted on to follow conscientiously the directions and signals of their bosses. We now live in a global economy characterized by rapid change, accelerating scientific and technological breakthroughs, and an unprecedented level of competitiveness. Our own mental complexity lags behind the complexity of the world’s demands.
We are in over our heads.”
- Robert Kegan and Lisa Lahey, “Immunity to Change”
Overwhelming amounts of change without having enough transformation leadership expertise and self-awareness can cause significant, unproductive stress. Too much reduces your problem solving ability by as much as 50%.
Frequent organization redesign initiatives can have a negative impact - only 60 percent hit their employee performance targets. Many result in “a work environment with unclear decision-making authority, reduced collaboration or poor alignment between an employee's interest and their new job.”
Only 51% of employees trust their managers.
44% of all new to role leaders underperform as they navigate critical career transitions and their direct reports perform 15% lower as well.
“I firmly believe that all human beings have access to extraordinary energies and powers. Judging from accounts of mystical experience, heightened creativity, or exceptional performance by athletes and artists, we harbor a greater life than we know.”
- Jean Houston, Human Potential Pioneer
US Army World Class Athlete Program Paralympics sprinter hopeful Sergeant Jerrod Fields, seen here working out at the US Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, California, won the 100 meters with a time of 12.15 seconds at the 2009 Endeavor Games.
